The Good Wife: Show Review

I really wasn’t looking to add an hour-long drama to my list of must-watch television show, but I have…and you must!

CBS’s “The Good Wife” is a surprise of the fall 2009 television season.

It’s a lawyer drama, with a mix of real-life Washington, DC sex drama, which is always fun.  Plus, it’s a great cast!

Alicia Florrick (“ER” veteran Julianna Margulies) learns her husband, Peter (Chris Noth, “Sex and the City”), the state’s attorney for Chicago and Cook County, Ill., is resigning in the wake of a sex and corruption scandal. After watching Alicia deliver a well-earned slap to her husband’s face, we jump to six months later, where she’s the newest (and oldest) junior associate at a prestigious Chicago law firm where a former law-school buddy (Josh Charles, “Sports Night”) is now a partner.

Also in the show, Matt Czuchry (Logan from “Gilmore Girls”) works at the firm, as well as firm partner Christine Baranski.

Aside from the cast, must be a strong cast of writers.  The writing is sharp, quick and funny in a serious sort-of-way.

It’s exciting to think that in this age of reality television, networks can still come up with a strong and solid drama with great writing and acting teams.  There’s hope afterall!

My recommendation: Must add to the DVR!!!
