Downton Abbey – I’m Obsessed

There’s nothing I hate more than hearing constant buzz about a tv show that I’ve never watched.  The Emmy’s last year were painful for me as a show called “Downton Abbey” won all sorts of awards.

So I finally figured out how to watch it and I can honestly say, I’m obsessed!

First of all, Hulu Plus has saved my “stuck watching reruns life…” and I managed to make it through the entire two seasons of Downton Abbey in a week.

I’m actually having dreams about the….it’s pretty crazy.

I had heard the new season begins on September 16th.  But then I saw that the season starts in Great Britain in September, and it won’t hit the United States until January!?!?! JANUARY!?!?!?!  So now I’m going to have to figure out another way to get my fix.

If you haven’t watched the show, get on board.  If you are a rabid fan like myself…here are some of my thoughts and hopes for season 3:

  • The Spanish Flu is some nasty crap.
  • I really would like Mary and William to just get married.
  • I can’t believe Lord Granthem kissed the maid!?!  OMG  – And then judges his daughter who wants to marry the chauffeur? Gotta love the British.
  • The costumes are amazing.
  • Hard to believe Mary was ever engaged to that jerk Sir Richard.
  • I think I’m going to make a “Free Bates” t-shirt to wear
  • I’m really curious to know what really killed the Turkish guy that Mary was messing around with.
  • I’m so very thrilled that Anna and Bates got to hook up before he was arrested – that was so amazing of Mary to arrange that.
  • The one thing I don’t think I would love about Downton is the food.  It doesn’t sound appealing to me.  But if you think differently, try cooking some off the food yourself with this new cookbook.
  • “I want a good man for you…a brave man for you.  Find a cowboy in the middle west and bring him back here to shake us up a bit.”  — Lord Grantham to Mary – one of my favorite quotes of the show.
  • Daisy may be my favorite character of the show…love her clumsiness.
  • I don’t understand why Thomas still works at Downton.
