Searching for Orlando’s best burger – BurgerFi

I’ve been impressed with the choices lately and Winter Park is certainly the place to be these days to get your beef on.

BurgerFi in Winter Park is new to the burger scene and already a hit.  The husband and I hopped in recently for a quick bite before an event, so we were childless, which is rare for us.

My kids would have spent hours at the soda machine.  It’s one of those Coca-Cola Freestyle machines with over 100+ options.  Sometimes I don’t have time for that many options.

And it is a great place to bring kids. They do serve alcohol – but it’s an open place with a nice outside area in a busy part of Winter Park that is very child friendly.

I opted for the regular burger with grilled onions and bbq sauce.  I loved the “branded bun” look.  My favorite part, and this is going to sound weird, was that it was served in a wax paper sleeve.

When I was in high school, I used to eat a bagel everyday for lunch (back when endless carbs didn’t matter) and they were always served in that wax paper.  There’s something about it that makes whatever you eat smooth and soft without it getting mushy.

And the bun of this burger was exactly that.

My husband went with the VegeFi burger.  I have no idea WHY he did this – and he said is was OK.  I personally think if you go to a burger place, and don’t order a burger, you have no right to complain if it’s not great.

We did go a little crazy and try the Cry and Fries – the onion rings and fresh cut fries.  We didn’t get any crazy toppings on the fries, which they do offer.  The fries and the rings were delicious.

We didn’t have time for dessert – but it did look great and I can’t wait to head back and try this place again.

As for the burger rating – it’s up there.  I have to give them 4 and a half out of five buns.  It’s a really great burger.
