You know much much I love talking about food, so I honored to be part of the Yelp Elite Squad. We get invited to Yelp events all around town, many times before others can even try new places. It’s a great perk. And those Yelp folks know how to throw a party! This year, they threw a giant event in Orlando open to all Yelp’ers. And if you didn’t get to go, you missed out.
The event was held at The Acre and featured a variety of local businesses; all benefiting a great cause: The Harbor House of Central Florida. The event raised over $3,000 for this group that seeks to eliminate domestic violence in Central Florida by providing safety, shelter, empowerment, education and justice.
The Acre is an event space I had no idea existed. It’s this great farm-like property in the College Park area of Orlando. It was just beautiful!
One of the biggest its, the commemorative Yelp Bohemian Bash mason jar! We had some great drinks.
One of my favorite, favorite, favorite things was the amazing chocolate fountain from Peterbrooke Chocolatier of Winter Park. I’m not ashamed to say I had more than one helping AND I licked my plate.
Outside, Winter Park Distilling was awaiting to treat everyone to their Bear Gully Classic Whiskey apple cider with seasonal spices. My husband was super excited to hear about a new local distillery!
One of my favorites was the new College Park Mediterranean spot, Hubbly Bubbly Falafel Shop rocked their specialties. The hummus was amazing and I really liked the falafel. I don’t know if I’ve had one before but I will be hitting them up soon because it was great!
Lots of great food, performers and vendors. It was great to try out a lot of new, locally-owned restaurants that I haven’t tried before. I was also excited to eat at one of my favorites, the Sus Hi Eatstation that is near UCF.
If you aren’t on Yelp, what are you waiting for?! Don’t miss the next big event!
