So there’s Thanksgiving, then Black Friday…then someone added Small Business Saturday…we take Sunday off (For God?) and then Cyber Monday. This year there’s something called #GivingTuesday and that’s tomorrow!!!

So what’s it all about?  From their website:

We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. This year help us create #GivingTuesday. A new day for giving back.  On Tuesday December 3, 2013, global charities, families, businesses, community centers, students and more will come together to create #GivingTuesday.

It’s a simple idea. Just find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to come together to give something more. Then tell everyone you can about how you are giving. Be a part of a national celebration of our great tradition of generosity.

I know of a great way you can get involved right here in Orlando to directly help a family. Cocktails & Chemo is a blog run by my dear friend Amanda and her husband Joe.  If you haven’t followed their story, you should.  It’s crazy, and sad but also completely inspiring.  They have JUST returned from two months in Houston following Joe’s second cancer surgery.  (Did I mention he’s only 30?!)  And if that wasn’t enough, Amanda is just days away from giving first to their first baby.

We have been working on a kick-butt fundraiser and there are still tickets available!!! It’s this Saturday, December 7th at an very fancy home in Windermere.  For more information, check out http://CocktailsAndChemo.com/fundraiser.  Tickets are just $75 for a pair.  There will be great food, great music and even better company.  It’s really a great cause to give directly to a family that really needs some help right now.
