My husband and I are on our second roadtrip adventure for the year. This time we ditched the kids to attend the wedding of one of my dear friends. The wedding is in the mountains of North Carolina and since we’ve never really Ben to the area, came a day before the wedding to explore.
Our first real stop lead us to the University of South Carolina. Timely with the big UCF football game this weekend. The campus was beautiful but a lot smaller then we expected. We found a great sushi/Mexican restaurant. Not at all something you expect to work- but it worked all so well.
On the road again and we detoured to Greenville based on recommendations. The only bad part of this was that we did not research and loved it so much we wanted to stay. We basically ended with doing a drinking tour. Whiskey at High Cotton. Beer at the Carolina Ale House ( no relation to the Orlando Ale House- but they did have Zingers on the menu. Faux Zingers. )
Then we happened to find a great distillery that specialized in moonshine, whiskey and more. My husband was in heaven. I tries on and thought my throat was burning.
Time to hit the road again. We had a choice of the highway, or as we called it the squiggly way through the mountains. We went with option 2. It was stressful. For me at least.
After lots of sharp turns, we found the hotel and went out to a highly recommended restaurant that is a big place for locals. After a margarita, it was bed time.
