Scene: My house, Friday night. I’m in my penguin pajamas around 6:30pm as I’m exhausted and ready for bed. However, this is the first weekend in a LONG time where we have ZERO PLANS.
My husband comes in from outside and says, the Duncans are here. That’s my sister’s family. So I go outside, in my penguin pj’s. My sister says, “hey, there’s a triathlon tomorrow at the Blanchard Park Y – you kids want to do it?” They answer – SURE! So now they’re doing a triathlete bright and early Saturday morning.
It’s just funny that these kids are all up for anything, anytime. I guess that’s good right?

At least that’s what I think it was for them…it was all a bit last minute for us. We had four boys in our family competing in this event – so it was a bit hard to keep track of them all. But how adorable are they?!
My nephews run, A LOT. Plus, their county school system has a running club (which is something Orange CO. needs to get on board with!) so she’s prepared for these sorts of events…
I wish there were events like this when I was little. Perhaps I would be in better shape now if this was an outlet I had. Although, my asthma + running = disaster. But still, I’m pretty good at the swimming and biking thing.
I honestly didn’t care how my kids finished, as long as they finished. And they all did!
Patrick apparently came in 1st in his age group – male 7-year-0ld’s. I’m not sure this is accurate, but I’m proud either way and he’s really happy!
