I’ve talked before of my love for Splitsville, the bowling alley/swanky food place in Tampa. We have long said there should be one in Orlando – and my husband even said it should open at Downtown Disney like 10 years ago! Well – it has finally arrived in Orlando – and at Downtown Disney!! He’s really a genius!
We were excited to join the bloggers from Disney Parks Blog and head to this great meetup event.
The place is just so cool!! They have some of the best food around – amazing sushi and pizza!! And great bar drinks, dessert and more! The claim to have the “largest bar space” in all of central Florida. I have no idea if that is true, but it’s amazing. I do know that it is the world’s largest Splitsville, so that’s something! The building has totally been transformed from the old Virgin MegaStore – which brings back some great pop music memories of meeting all my favorites…Britney, Backstreet, NSync. But this transformation is just what Downtown Disney needed. Some great family-friendly entertainment that doesn’t give me the headache that Disney Quest can bring.
My favorite part, besides the food, was this great outdoor bar/seating area on the second floor. It’s such a great spot to get a drink and just people watch all night. We may go back to just sit here and hang out, and not even bowl!
I loved all the art and details around the place. Many of the bowling balls had awesome designs, like this one. I want it!! But the art surrounding the place was also pretty amazing. They had this Florida mural that was beautiful. I would have gotten a picture, but I couldn’t as a bunch of people were hogging those lanes and I couldn’t get close enough. I do hope they they will sell that print in the gift shop, I would love to buy it. The store wasn’t open when we were there- so that’s another excuse for me to go back soon!
Thanks again to the Disney Parks Blog for this great experience! I will be back soon!! They also look this great photo of my boys- which I love!
They also had these great digital cartoon guys drawing pictures…so here’s a look at my boys – how do you think they did?
