I expected to see legos at Legoland – obviously. But I guess I didn’t really expect the attention to detail that I saw.
Everywhere you looked, legos. Little lizards on trees, a bird sitting on a fence, lego flowers mixed into a real flower bed.
I think the most impressive part was Mini Land. Seeing Kennedy Space Center made of legos was beyond impressive. The fact that the countdown clock was ticking, and there were even media people at the Kennedy Space Center press site – just detailed and accurate.
I was also impressed by the Daytona International Speedway. I enjoyed the fake sponsors!
I think my favorite little detail was on the White House – if you look closely – you will see the entire Obama family on the front steps, including Bo, the Obama family dog.
One of the things I wish I had known before we went…bring extra Lego minis! My children have little Lego people that they don’t play with, or have duplicates of. Instead of doing the Disney pin trading thing, Legoland does the Lego mini thing. Each employee has a name tag with one or more mini people on it. My kids were obsessed with trading all day! Such a great added bonus! Now they want to go back just to trade all day!
