Review: Wawa moves into Orlando

I had to check out what the buzz what all about. I’m excited to say, I like this new Wawa place!
The chain from the east coast is on a blitz here in Central Florida, opening 5 new stores in 5 weeks. But many more than that are opening.
I’ve never heard such reaction from people about a gas station then I’ve heard about this Wawa place.

Let me first say that I did get gas there. And while getting gas is one of my least favorite things to do – Wawa pumps were very clean and I enjoyed the music they were playing….Cherish by Madonna.

So I went in, ordered my sandwich at the touch screen computer and set out to explore the inside of this place.
Of course, my eyes were drawn straight to the Tastykake’s.  So I had to buy an apple pie and a chocolate cake for my kids.

I also thought these little snack packs looked really good.  I’m always on the go and eating in my car.  This would be a perfect thing to grab if needed.

This is the magical center of the Wawa where they custom make your sandwich. I was surprised how organized and fast it was.

Here’s my sandwich. I got the Chicken Philly Sub – on white bread with provolone cheese, grilled onions, light mayo and salt and pepper. It was served steaming hot and was delicious.

And for dessert, who could pass up a warm chocolate chip cookie?? Not me!
Oh Wawa, I’ll be back.

  1. Glad your visit when better than mine. I went at 12:30 on a Friday and it was swamped. I could not make it to the magical touch screens and had to opt for selecting bottled flavored water. I wasn’t too impressed by their selection of bottled waters and other beverages. I will have to give them another try and thankfully one is opening close to my home in about a year.

  2. “You forgot to mention the bread!” Being born and raised in South Jersey I feel that the most important ingredient of a hogie is the bread. In the tri-state area most sandwich builders use Amaroso rolls. Even the Wawa quicky marts use this amazing sandwich foundation. One of Americas greatest natural resources is the Hogie.

  4. I’m from the Delaware County, in Pennsylvania which is right outside of Philly. I think it is awesome that they have finally opened them in Florida. Since your first trip was a success, it is quite obvious you will be going back! If I may, I suggest you try their Breaded Chicken Strip Sandwich. You customize just how you want it. Wawa is an awesome place to even just grab something to drink. I go there just about everyday, their coffee is great and convenient. Enjoy it while you can!
