Apparently I was one of the few in the world who actually watched the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards.
I must confess, I didn’t watch the whole thing, but most of it.
Only 2.68 million people tuned into the 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards Ceremony on The CW – with a 0.6/2 rating/share, and the pre-show red carpet parade drew a dismal 1.21 million viewers to the network.
I didn’t know there was a red-carpet special! I looked for one on E! but they didn’t carry it…oh well.
A few of my observations:
1) Vanessa Williams- She was the host. Overall, not bad. I thought the opening number of kind-of cute. She looked FAB…but I hated the song in the middle. She sang some song and it was long and all about her…and it was just weird. I wasn’t there to watch her sing!
2) I don’t watch soap operas anymore, so I was kind of lost…but I was still rooting for Days Of Our Lives- which won, nothing…
3) I was disappointed with the talk show winners…Rachael Ray for Best Talk Show…and The View for Best Talk Show Hosts…wrong on both accounts
4) For the, the best part was the lifetime achievement award, given to Sesame Street on its 40th anniversary. It was sweet, make me cry. I only wish they spent more time showing old clips, and less time doing cheesy songs on stage and changing the words to include soap stars…who cares…
