ABC FALL LINEUP 2009

The ABC television network is out with its list of shows for the 2009-2010 television season.

ABC is betting on comedy for the fall, with four new sitcoms scheduled for Wednesday, and is making changes on all but two nights of the week.

But one ABC comedy, which I enjoyed, got the ax.
Christina Applegate’s “Samantha Who?” has been cancelled.

Television veterans will return to the network in the new comedy shows, like Kelsey Grammer, Patricia Heaton and Courteney Cox.

    Among the new shows:

“Eastwick”
Starring Rebecca Romijn (which I guess means she won’t be returning to “Ugly Betty”) and Lindsay Price.
The show is based off the 1987 film “The Witches of Eastwick.” It uses the same theme as the film – a guy with mysterious powers controlling three women.

“V”
An updated take on the 1980s miniseries about aliens landing on Earth.

“Hank”
Comedy starring Kelsey Grammer as a CEO who loses his job and must reconnect with his long-ignored family.

“Cougar Town”
Starring Courteney Cox as a single divorced mother.
It’s a show that “examines what it’s like for women to grow older and deal with love and relationships.”

“The Middle”
Starring Patricia Heaton this comedy is about a middle-class family in Indiana.

“Modern Family”
Former “Married…With Children” father Ed O’Neill stars in this comedy that is shot from the perspective of an unseen documentary filmmaker.

“The Deep End”
Is a drama set in the high-end law world

“Flash Forward”
A drama set after an unexplained event causes the world to black out and everyone is forced to focus on whether their destinies can be avoided or fulfilled.

“The Forgotten”
This is a drama brought to you by Jerry Bruckheimer. Amateurs work on crime cases involving unidentified victims.

“Happy Town”
Set in a small town in Minnesota, where, following a period of peace after a series of unsolved kidnappings, a crime has everyone talking.

“Shark Tank”
This show is the lone new reality show is which challenges contestants to convince five multimillionaires to fund their ideas.

Among the series with question marks returning next season are “Castle,” “Better Off Ted,” “Scrubs” and the reality series “True Beauty.” Gone from the lineup are “Cupid” and “The Unusuals.”

  1. As soon as I saw the promo for Castle I hoped it wouldn’t last.. but I bet they will pick that back up, since they canceled Samantha Who!
