A view from the beach…

Yes…I’m one of THOSE people.
I’m sitting on a beautiful beach, the waves the only sound for miles, under a cabana, with my laptop out and updating my blog.
Sorry folks, that’s how I roll these days.
Life has been busy.  Good busy.  Lots of change, lots of big life decisions.
I never thought I would dedicated this much brain power to selecting the right retirement plan.  At my age, it’s hard to think about retirement. But I know how important it is, and I know how lucky I am to work at a place that offers so many retirement options.  Let me also say, it’s exhausting.

New job is going great.  I feel like it’s going to be something I can really make my own…and that’s a great thing for me.  While starting a new “day” job I’ve also started a new “part-time” gig.  Socializer Media is officially off the ground.  I, along with two of my very witty writer/social media friends, have formed our own company to help businesses build their brands through digital platforms.  It’s something I’ve wanted to do for awhile and it’s all finally happening.
We have real clients, and official logo and a website that I’m just putting finishing touches on.
The great thing about this is that we all have some pretty vast tv producing/writing/editing skills and we know all key players in town between us.  So we can really help small businesses make some key digital moves.
It’s all very exciting.

Aside from that, it’s just about summer.  In fact, summer kicked off last weekend when I got my first sunburn at the beach.  Apparently I missed on spot on the back of my neck, normally covered by my hair.  I decided to wear my hair in a bun that day.  Bad move.  This weekend, we are enjoying the salty ocean air down in Vero Beach. It’s one of the most relaxing places around.
I went biking this morning on my favorite trail, and am now sitting in previously mentioned cabana.  Life is good.

These next few weeks will bring an elementary school graduate to my house.  I will soon live with a middle-schooler.  I know parents say it all the time, but it’s true.  HOW DID THIS HAPPEN SO FAST!?!?!
At the same time, I’m so proud to see my little dude turning into such a great, smart and talented young man.
He does AV club in the morning before school, then rocks all of this classes, then has chorus after school where he’s rehearsing his role of rthe upcoming production of Annie, and then off to Run Club after that.

It’s going to be a great summer with trips down to Marco Island and a big family road-trip up to Chicago for another “Bresnahan” family wedding.  Pardon me if I’m not blogging much -but I will be living life!
And, as always, expect lots of food porn (and palm tree) pictures!
