Sweet Pea Baby Shower

Baby shower’s are always fun to plan.  This one was especially exciting because it was for one of my best friends, Amanda.  It was also the hardest shower I’ve had to plan in awhile.  You see, she blogs over at Cocktails & Chemo and has had quite the roller-coaster of emotions during this pregnancy. They found out they were pregnant and really only had a few days of celebration before they learned that her husband’s cancer was back.  That meant a long period of time in a Houston hospital for surgery.  That also meant rescheduling a baby shower over and over again.  I felt like we really had to have a giant party to spoil this momma-to-be since the majority of this pregnancy was always about something else other than her and the baby.  We decided to go with a “Sweet Pea” theme since that was one of their songs that they dedicated to the baby.

We had food catered by 4Rivers, which was amazing as always.  We had lots of great decorations and had little mason jars with a signature pink lemonade drink.

We didn’t play traditional baby shower games.  We had a game where I photoshopped Amanda’s head onto bodies of pregnant celebrities.  That one was fun.  The other game/activity we did was onsie decorating.  But not your average onsie’s…we decorated cookies!  And then people had to vote for the best cookie.  It was fun and different.

Overall, a great shower that was so much fun!! I’m happy we were able to make this happen and welcome this baby into the world with lots of love!
