February 2013 TV Calendar

I’m pretty confident that the January 31 show finale of 30 Rock will scar me for life.  With that said, there is some decent TV to tune into in February.

Typically, February is reality show month.  It’s when we see premiers of shows like The Amazing Race, Survivor, etc.  I don’t watch those and have no plans on that.  That’s my time to catch up on the DVR and explore actual television shows that have writers and actors.  Aside from Real Housewives and basically anything on Bravo – I don’t believe in reality tv.  If you want info. on when those shows start – head to google.

February is also the BIG award show month.  I mean, if you’re into movies.  For a TV girl like me, I love for the Emmy Awards…

Some notes from January – The Golden Globes did not disappoint.  I love, love, love the new Carries Diaries on the CW.  Downton is back so I can finally talk about it with all you in the US who are just catching up on the drama.  I’m still enjoying Bunheads…totally love Nashville.  1600 Penn is ok….better than I thought but still unsure.  I haven’t watched The Following yet – I’m told it may be too scary for me.  The Parenthood finale made me cry.

But, here’s what I plan to watch in February…so get those DVR’s ready!

Sunday, February 3

  • Puppy Bowl IX – 3 p.m. – Animal Planet
The starting lineup has been announced and seriously, what’s not to love about watching little fuzzy puppies run around and play? Frankly, I get more excited about this event then the other “sporting” event happening today.
  • Super Bowl XLVII – 6:30 p.m. – CBS –
I have no real interest in either team.  But I will say this – both Harbaugh brothers are hot.  I’d root for Jim because of his Bears connection – but then again, he went to the University of Michigan.  So….it’s a draw.

Monday, February 4

  • Monday Mornings – 10pm – TNT
Sounds to be like Grey’s Anatomy – but written by CNN doc Sanjay Gupta and produced by David E. Kelly.  So we’ll see.

Tuesday, February 5

  • Smash – 9pm – NBC
Apparently I’m one of the few who loved season 1.  Season 2 promises lots of changes including ditching some of the characters and Debra Mesing’s scarves. I demand to see more Bernadette Peters.

Friday, February 8

  • Touch – 8pm – FOX
I’m always expect low expectations when networks schedule shows on Friday night.  However, the show does look amazing.  But for some reason, Kiefer Sutherland scares the crap out of me.

Sunday, February 10

  • The Grammys8pm – CBS
Music’s biggest night?! I say let’s give Adele all the awards and just let her talk and sing for a few hours on live tv.  It would be awesome-entertaining! Let’s also hope for some red carpet drama!

Sunday, February 24

  • Academy Awards7pm – ABC
Above all else, I’m awaiting the LIVE ADELE singing!!  I’m sure red carpet will be lots of fun.  But I still haven’t really seen any of the movies.  Maybe I should get on that.
