Making Olympic Medals

All systems are go for this weekend’s big Olympic-themed birthday party!

I’ve been debating how to deal with the medals. I bought some cheap ones at Target – but wanted to personalize them on one side.  I was debating some different options; stickers, foam, etc.

Finally, I settled on clay.

That’s right folks, clay! I found oven bake clay.  So the kids went to work.

We found a circle about the same side as the medals and the Sculpey clay.

We rolled the clay into a ball, flattened it out and started cutting circles.

To make the Olympic rings, the top of my Blistex worked perfectly!  Once those were ready, they went into the oven.

When they were done, we spray painted them gold then glued them to one side of the original medals.

Check them out and let me know what you think!
