It’s been an interesting week with nature in the Cook home….
We live next to a “conservation area.” It’s basically a retention pond- but prettier than most! Lots of birds, trees, and even jumping fish….
First…I found this sitting on top of Scott’s car as I was leaving for work.
That explains all the bird poop!
Then yesterday, we noticed an intruder into our yard…walking along the fence.
Then we noticed a big whole under the fence that this guy must have made.
So, I made Scott help the little turtle out a bit. He had never picked up a turtle before- and if you look closely, you can see the turtle was trying to bite him.
In the end….turtle went back to live in the water…I’m sure we’ll see him again.
My boys were disappointed they missed all the excitement!
Last summer I saw something HUGE in the backyard. I had to look closer. It was a gopher tortoise! It went around, I gave it a plate of veggies…it was there for a couple days. The dogs investigated it a few times, it was kind of fun!
Now we hear there is a black bear in our little neighborhood…not looking forward to that nature encounter! ha!
